Biography - 150 words
Jackie Garner is a wildlife artist based in Gloucestershire, England. She exhibits regularly, either individually or with other wildlife artists, illustrators and sculptors. She is particularly inspired by the way wildlife fits in to its environment through repeating shapes and colours
Jackie originally concentrated
solely on British wildlife art, but four weeks in the Falkland Islands in 2005
led to a reputation for penguin paintings. In 2008 Jackie also spent six weeks
on a research trip in Egypt which will be the basis for illustrating a book
on the wildlife art of ancient Egypt. She is also currently authoring and illustrating
The Wildlife Artist's Handbook that will be published by Crowood Press
in 2013.
Her paintings of wildlife have been shown on BBC television and are held in collections as far afield as the Falklands, Trinidad, Australia and South Africa. Jackie was elected to fellowship of the RSA in 2006.
