Jackie Garner, Artist

Biography - 150 words

Jackie Garner is a wildlife artist based in Gloucestershire, England. She exhibits regularly, either individually or with other wildlife artists, illustrators and sculptors. She is particularly inspired by the way wildlife fits in to its environment through repeating shapes and colours.

Jackie originally concentrated solely on British wildlife art, but four weeks in the Falkland Islands in 2005 led to a reputation for penguin paintings. In 2008 Jackie also spent six weeks on a research trip in Egypt which will be the basis of illustrations for a book on the wildlife art of ancient Egypt. She is the author and main illustrator of The Wildlife Artist's Handbook (pub. 2013, The Crowood Press).

Her paintings of wildlife have been shown on BBC television and are held in collections as far afield as the Falkland Islands, Trinidad, Australia and South Africa. Jackie was elected to fellowship of the RSA in 2006.
