Biography - 150 words

Jackie Garner is a professional artist based in Gloucestershire, England. She exhibits regularly, either individually or with other artists. 2010/11 exhibitions include WWT Slimbridge, and the Society of Wildlife Artists and Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, both at London's Mall Galleries.

Jackie works from live subjects whenever possible, usually preferring pencil, acrylics or watercolour. Her early paintings included still life and portraiture before focusing mainly on wildlife art. She has completed field trips to the Falkland Islands and Egypt to study their wildlife, and is currently illustrating a book on the wildlife art of ancient Egypt.

Jackie is a keen birder and has featured in a series of BBC radio nature broadcasts with Brian Bailey on his 'Country Matters' programme.

Jackie's art work is held in collections as far afield as the Falklands, Trinidad, Australia and South Africa. Jackie was elected to fellowship of the RSA in 2006.
